I think they need to get more athletic at the tackle position. Also Vrabel is not 100% imho and they missed Mahogany.

Not a fan of Coach Appletree, there must be a better O line coach. My question is this, WHEN DOES HAFLEY GO ON THE HOT SEAT? If they finish 6-6 or worse next year?? Or is 6 wins the new normal at BC?

To add to my last threat, Recruiting and COVID are the only reasons Hafley’s coaching seat isn’t scorching right now. Back to back 6-6 seasons? Isn’t that why we fired Addazio?? I like Hafley but if BC is worse than 7 wins next year, we probably need to start thinking about moving on.

This is a ludicrous hot take. BC’s record may be no different than addazio’s, but you can see how much more competitive the losses have been. When the improved coaching catches up with the improved recruiting, then we’ll be cooking. Hot seat talk shouldn’t start for another two years.

Hafley is the best Coach to come to BC since Coughlin and Jags.

GDF screwed BC with his hire of mumbling golfing pal Spaz that was an instant monumental disaster level blunder with long term domino effects.

Jags was right and was stuck with no blitz Hail Mary burned no dime defense Spaz.

TOB was below mediocre at best. His Record is posted here.

Spaz was a wooden Indian and recruiting dolt and like Daz was lazy too and never went after the 4/5 level kids that Hafley is busting his ass to get.

TOB was a patsy beater and peer competition blistered his ass with Bible’s Dive offense that then hung with BC it’s last 11 years with NCAA passing stats that were worse than a wishbone team.

Hafley needs transfer help and time. Jurk was the starter and QB’s want a chance to start and he gets a pass with the backup situation

Two offensive Coordinator’s turned into genius wizard’s after escaping Dante’s Last Rectum of Hell and Daz.

Spaz and Daz handcuffed our talent. The College of Concannon, Flutie, Foley and Ryan has a stretch of the worst most embarrassing NCAA passing stats.

If you need proof there is a thread here I posted.

Being 1-27 vs. AP Top 25 Teams, we were blessed to get Hafley and his career recruiting contacts. BC’s program wasn’t high on top echelon coaching lists

Hafley’s seat is colder than Ice Station Zebra.

*Thread* Under Hafley who have they beat so far?? So if BC finished 0-12 next year and lost by a point in every game, you would be happy?? This was pitched as a “retool” not a “rebuild”. BC lost to a mediocre/ bad FSU team! Hafley still hasn’t won any big games yet. He is NOT THE BEST COACH WE HAVE HAD SINCE OBRIEN, HE HASNT WON ANYTHING!

Hafley is 12-10 so far and likely to finish 12-11 after next week. Hafley hasn’t proven anything other than that he is a good recruiter. TO SAY THAT HE’S THE BEST COACH SINCE TOB IS A JOKE! WHAT IS HAFLEY’s RECORD AGAINST TOP 25 TEAMS? JEFF HAFLEY IS 0-6 AGAINST TOP 25 TEAMS!!!

What's his record against teams with a winning record? Maybe one win against Pitt last year?

We talk about 50/50 games. That only applies to teams that don't have a winning record. BC is 10/90 in games with teams with winning records. So far, Phil has not shown he can win the big game. He has a chance on Saturday. But I think he's only operating at 50% as he doesn't have any zip on his balls and his release percentage must be suffering.

Hafley misspoke when he described BC as a "retool" rather than a "rebuild." What did he inherit? Daz left BC with no quarterback and a subpar, depleted defense. Hafley got us a great quarterback who has, unfortunately, been injury prone since his debut. The defense has a long way to go. His recruiting has been stellar. Criticize the OC or the DC, but given the fact that BC has a tradition of keeping terrible coaches well past their expiration dates, Hafley certainly needs more of a chance.

If they finish 6-6 next year or worse, I don’t think you can cut him slack. Positive note, if BC can beat Wake and win their Bowl; they can finish with 8 wins. Just tired of seeing BC consistently in the gutter of the ACC. I guess it could be worse, we could be UConn or Umass and be the porta potty of college football.

Hafley has done a great job turning around the defense in less than two seasons (including the nearly-lost year of 2020) and the recruiting is obviously pointed in the right direction. He needs time and patience. But that is not to say he doesn't have to make some tough calls this offseason. There has got to be a change at the OL coaching spot-- the line has underperformed for two years and that OL play in the first half Saturday was the worst I can recall in 20+ years watching BC football-- and he might want to at least become more hands-on with the offense after some of the curious play calls this season. He also has to take some ownership of the huge drop-off on offense while Jurkovec was hurt. A decline was to be expected, but the offense went off a cliff. He's got to work the portal a little more, and obviously be ready for the possible departures of Jurkovec and Flowers. On top of all these headaches, the non-conference schedule gets tougher as @ Notre Dame and Rutgers replace Missouri and (I guess) @ Temple as our toughest and second-toughest OOC games. The Coastal crossover is Duke, so that is a break.

Overall, it's tough to see a breakthrough coming next season, and certainly not if Jurkovec declares. I continue to believe in Hafley, however, and think that the turnaround really comes in 2023 when he has all his recruits in place and we face a softer schedule than in 2022.

Jurkovec won’t declare, he hasn’t played a full season healthy. He would be a late round draft pick if he even gets drafted at all if he declares. He needs to clean some things up and play a full season healthy. There’s a lot of upside coming back next year, I think Zay Flowers will declare. Phil Jurkovec still needs to prove that he can play a full season without getting hurt.
