Jon Rothstein projected out the starting five this year as: MAL, Demarr, Karnik, Galloway and Post. What do you think?

Over/Under on MAL averaging 17 ppg?
I’ll take the under and actually hope that I’m right. This team will likely struggle offensively and not play super uptempo, so I’d be surprised to see any of our guys score 17. And I’d love to see Makai score more than last year, but I hope he acts as more of a facilitator. He’s got the skills to get by defenders and get his teammates open looks.

but if I had to bet on who our leading scorer is, I’d go with Makai.

If Karnik is starting, the team is in trouble. I’m hoping Bickerstaff or Gianni beat him out.

I would also imagine the rotations evolve quite a bit early on since we have so many new guys.

Thanks. What do think we can expect from Brevin? I know he has history with Coach. Does he get starter minutes and double digit ppg?

I know Brevin has a history with coach, so I'd expect him to play a big leadership role, not to mention his apparent role in recruiting. I'm not so sure about his on-court contribution. 10ppg doesn't seem impossible, but, especially with him coming off an injury, I'm not sure he's an ACC level athlete.

I'll also say that I see virtually no path to the postseason for this team, so I'm not really concerned too much about numbers and much more concerned about how the new players look at how Demarr and (to a much lesser extent) JVB have developed.

I like it. You have some size which BC needs. Agree Demarr is a wing type, but that should fit in well with guards.

Rothstein also reported Zachery and Jones look like good finds. Gianni comes off bench which is good as freshman.
I’m really hoping Zachery shows everyone up. Remember all the negativity after his transfer was announced. No one even thought about giving him a chance just like with Grant. Well not even two months later Grant signed two 4 stars and a 3 star that played on one of the best high school teams in the nation. Gritty not pretty baby!!!!!!

I think the odds of Zachery being a star are pretty small, but I think the odds of him being a solid role player for the next four years are pretty decent. He's more experienced than the vast majority of freshmen and that matters. He doesn't have ACC level experience, but hopefully he won't have a deer in headlights look either. And it seems like he can shoot, which will not likely be one of this years team's strengths.

If Makai is our leading scorer, this team better be ready to play some amazing defense. MAL shot 23.5% from three point range last year!

Really hoping Demarr, Thompson or maybe even Galloway step up to assume the scoring load.
