Offensive Coordinator Candidate Hot Board

Carolina Panthers former offensive coordinator Joe Brady is my super longshot dream pick to maybe return to college, but our resident star analyst says, he is NFL future Coach!

Most likely then, AJ’s top 2, Chud or Dailey.

I tweeted Cig made some really bad & strange SpazDazesque calls down the stretch which more than surprised me in a few games?

Cig is stepping into a great program and slot with TP QB Slovis and a nice set of WR’s.

I see Pitt reloading and repeating.

Glad we don’t play them and get Duke.

While Cig has a great resume and many successes in the past, I do not understand why he gets off so blame-free because Phil's backup couldn't run the offense. It is rare when a team doesn't have injuries to a major player. That is something coaches understand and plan for. If your backup isn't able to run your offense, you train someone else to be the backup. I posted a while back that I was upset with AJ for telling us that Grosel was an adequate backup to Phil because of the players around him -- he had to be told that by coaches and folks around BC -- that is why we read this board -- he has contacts that most do not have -- yet Dennis couldn't run this offense -- but all the criticism was on Dennis -- not the coaches. With Phil's history of injuries, our coaching staff would be foolish if it isn't preparing someone to take over if he gets hurt again. That is the job of all the coaches, but particularly of the OC. I wish Cignetti the best, but he has big shoes to fill in Whipple. I remember there were many posters who wanted Whipple as a head coach back in the days just after Coach O'Brien left.

You don't understand no backup QB ?
OK. I'll explain it for you.

They had a great backup named Denis Grosel.

Hafley talked him into staying .He didn't want him to regret staying because as Haf said ,"He could be starting at other schools at all levels"

Haf was wrong. It happens.

Stop living in the past. Look forward to a bright future......
........ and pray every night that Jurkovec comes back 100%
Nothing is guaranteed. Afterall Kobay never came back from his knee injury.

People were calling for Whipple to replace Ryan Day but IMO, he would never allow an Addazio to override him so it never happened..

Cignetti never had a plan B and as you said so well… PJ had a clear injury prone history so not being ready was ALL on Cignetti…

Baer has a temper tantrum and quits about once a week because he is so much smarter than all of us and cannot stand our inadequacies. However, after a minute or two he comes back. I used to think he was actually one of our moderators causing extra posts because that is how guys like AJ get paid (based on activity), but now I think this is just one guy who really believes he knows more than everyone else -- that is why I now refer to him as "The Chosen One." Problem is that he is the one who chose himself -- kind of a legend in his own mind scenario. That is why he keeps preaching us to repent and reform our ways. I expect that eventually we may see as many as 40-50 Baers as he quits and rejoins.

One very good unanswered question I have not concerning BC but Pitt (since Cig went there). Why did Whipple leave one of the best teams in the ACC with great players coming back to go to a mess like Nebraska? Anybody know. I cannot believe it was just for salary.

Stop it.

I don't know more than everybody.
Just you.

LOL

Don't change. You're the best at what you do.

LOL

Your buddies are smart. I just sometimes disagree with their opinions or I try to explain how their (your) whining hurts BC football.. They are independant thinkers".
You just parrot the latest opinion of the day and also whine. I don't think you have ad an original thought or analysis ever. And your comebacks are always trying to put words in my mouth. Very childish. A sign of a " Ham and Egger ".

Just one more time I will try to reason with you. You may notice that Double Eagle has many posts with your points of view -- yet, he never attacks or criticizes the other party -- he just presents his case with his reasons. He doesn't call people names or criticize their beliefs. In fact, he is one of the most popular posters on this board. Maybe there is a lesson there . . . .

Mike Yurcich was considered a hot property the last few years. He went from Okie State to Penn State last year, and when PSU's QB Clifford went down, their offense looked atrocious. Same thing as here with Cig. Yurcich was a guy that Hafley had connection to and some hoped he's land here. Gotta think Hafley's connections with Day will be important as a sounding board.

Then there's this: Dick Curl and Gary Tranquill are both 81. They could split the job and return to The Heights! Pretty sure Curl managed to help us lose to RUTGERS a few times.

I'm not competing in a popularity contest.
Seriously don't care.

I don't even come to this sight for BC football news and opinion anymore because it turned 90 % negative . ( I do like to read Mitch Wolfe's thoughtful analysis)
Lumpy and Double Eagle are the only readable fan comments.

I'm still here to stress how certain posters are hurting BC football with their posts.

Last week it looked like the negativism had toned down. I deleted my password and left. Mission accomplished or so I thought.
A few days later and your crew right back at it.

I came back. It pains me to see BC "fans" trash BC football, coaches, Jesuits, etc

Who do you think Haf is referring to when he says , "The team ignores the noise?". If he has to mention it they don't ignore it. It's a problem. Who do you think is the noise ?

Just trying to help.

YOU critisize me saying I name call ?
Hypocrit.

I think a lot would change if you would attack us with actual proof and not by just saying that “You know by FACT” that recruits stayed away because of me/us but always go silent when you need to show the actual evidence.

That frankly makes you look foolish.

i would suggest you attack me/us but just use your opinion as a reason and not fiction facts.

Great Memory!

I wanted him with Hafley and he went to Texas!

Penn State head coach James Franklin has named Yurcich his new offensive coordinator after UT.

This is a great hire for the Nittany Lions, especially coming off a pretty frustrating season which began with lofty expectations.

Imagine Tranquill beat out Ryan Day and was hired by that cataonic calzone Spaz!

LOL!

I can't PP.

AJ has contacts . He knows. But he can't or he would get cut off.

Notice during the recruiting season BC leaks recruiting info to AJ and others that follow BC. AJ has great sources. The best. BC , as in their coaches can not talk about recruits until official signing day. Some info they want leaked. Some they don't. They don't want to talk about recruits or transfers they recently lost. It's negative.

PP believe it or not I agree with much you post. However, I have a problem with trashing CIg and Applebaum after really only one normal year where you lose your only capable QB.
You may be right about them or I may be right that the backup caused a lot of problems for the entire offense based on the reasons I have detailed time and again.

I'm positive about next year,. Even though I want to see Jurkovec at 100% before I'll bet on them. Just in case they are giving Morehead a lot of reps, a lot of attention.
