I watched the press conference and continue to very impressed with Hafley. He came in as defensive guy and the defense has improved dramatically. As I said before I think we are probably 2 years away but it will fun to watch as we progress. He and his staff really know how to recruit which is key.

As an aside, AJ i thought your discussion with LockedonNCState was great journalism by both parties. Thanks for such outstanding analysis.

Your welcome. The reason I come to these boards is information about BC. I totally respect the 20 or so years years you have put in increasing your knowledge and contacts and perfecting your craft. Added to that that there are some posters here that I respect, I find this a really great site to learn more about BC sports.

AJ should be nominated for Journalism Pulitzer.

Another thing Hafley et al seem to be able look at their roster and project what they will need 2 to 5 years down the road, see offer to '25 LB?DE, indicating these guys are lookin long term.

If BC works the new transfer portal rules Haf & Staff can turn it around in one year. (Not saying this year couldnt be good)

Haf recently mentioned they do not have a deep bench in some position groups. That was inherited from Daz's last two years of recruiting. I think only 16 recruits his last year.

But if he (1) works the new transfer portal rules (2) along with another great recruiting class and (3) Jurkovec returns then next year should be great.

By the way if Grosel settles into his role this year could be pretty damn good. Don't sell 2021 short.

The new reality is with the new rules the Transfer portal is now a big part of College football to fill in gaps. Hell, even Ohio State went to the portal for their starting quarterback.

Jurkovec is definitely coming back, he won’t even get drafted if he declares after missing almost the entire season and a few games last year. Jurkovec needs to prove to NFL scouts that he has the durability to play an entire 12 games CFB season. Unfortunately the biggest downfall with Jurkovec is that he’s been an injury waiting to happen. This isn’t high school ball, he needs to protect himself better.

Agree, not only does he have to show that he can stay healthy, but we have been told that he broke his wrist -- and although the arm strength will come back as he rehabs, he also has to show accuracy as good wrist mechanics are necessary to throw the ball with accuracy. But he will have the advantage of playing in a pro-style offense.
