Baer:

1. Disagreeing with you does not make another poster a whiner -- it just means we disagree.
2. Anytime a kid takes the field with permission of a coach he is the responsibility of the coach -- if he errs once that is his fault -- if he continues to make the same mistakes over and over, that is always the fault of the coach.
3. If anyone makes several million bucks a year he is always held to a h high standard -- this coaching staff has shown it can recruit, but it has the same record as the past coaching staff -- they will be exempt from criticism of kids making repetitive mistakes when they earn it.
4. Coaches like Coach K, Jerry York, Bill B, and Nick Saban are exempt because they earned it - no one else.
5. This is a BC Board -- everyone of us has a right to express their opinion -- I agree with some, I disagree with some -- if I disagree I may or may not post but that doesn't make me right or you right.
6. Based on your [post above, thee coaches would err to play Phil this year.

Okay, Baer, but posting the same post twice is enough -- please don't do it three times.

So, let me take everything you have said (I don't) as fact. That, Grosel was totally unable to play the position -- that Phil couldn't throw the ball at all when he came back -- that Grosel missed wide open receivers and the other teams loaded the box -- let's not even discuss that our past coach faced a loaded box for 8 years (many without an NFL calibre running back and still won enough games to be bowl eligible except for one year). Let's just assume that we had a backup that couldn't play. You say that the coaches thought they had a adequate backup but they didn't . Why didn't they see what you saw as so obvious -- that Dennis was not an adequate backup? Why did they encourage all our other QB's to leave? Whose job is it to evaluate talent? Yours? Mine? Isn't it the job of the coaches. But let's take it even further -- assume you accept the they somehow missed that Dennis couldn't play even though they watched him in practice every day -- they saw him in games -- if he was so bad, why did they leave him in there? And if it was because they had no one else ready other than someone who couldn't as you claim play the position, whose fault is that? Whiners on this board? If Phil goes down this year and we still do not have a adequate backup, whose fault will it be? Yours? Mine?

Be interested in your reply?

First can we all agree Grosel was not up for the task (he sucked)

Garwo III had a good year 1000 yds+ , but he is no AJ . That's AJ Dillo??..kn, not AJ Black.

Watch the Phil tapes after comeback.

* He beat GT with his run game.

* He was rusty. He was out for 7 games.

* How many times did he throw short or long after comeback.?

* He had absolutely no zip on the ball. Mostly high lofty throws (10X better than Grosel , but less than 50% of healthy Phil) An example was a deep. throw to Zay. Flowers was wide open running toward the end zone. The closest defender was at least 20 yds away. Phil throws a high lofty pass . Zay has to stop, take a few steps back and just stand there waiting for the ball as the defender starts to close in. The ball arrives, Zay catches it and jogs into the end zone. If the defensive back was only beat by 10 yds instead of 20 yds it would have not been completed.

Not blaming Phil. He was coming back from a fractured wrist. He was also rusty. A Phil at 50% is still 10X better than the alternative.

Just in case Morehead was getting a lot of reps before bowl game and will be getting a lot of reps in Spring and Summer camp.
Lets hope Phil comes back 100% for next year. If you think Phil played well after comeback and expect the same next Fall you are going to be very disappointed.

PS I didn't post twice. This site software gets whacky sometimes..Seems to happen when an administrator is monitoring.
Common AJ
I wish you had better things to do other than messing with BigBaer2 Posts…..

PennyPacker, Baer uses bullying tactics. Bullies get frustrated when bullying doesn't work -- so I will keep on keeping on. Imagine trying to bully any BC grad.

Sorry, if res loquitur is a big term for you -- for most on this board it is not. Mea culpa -- I will try to use my thesaurus checker to use 11th grade English so assist you in future posts.

First res loguitor.

Second Mea Culpa.

That's two big phrases for you today. '74 helped you didn't he ?
Now you just need to ask him teach you how to use them in a sentence.

Thank God. you have stopped with the emoji stage. Most kids outgrow it by 12 years old.

LOL

Agree with Double Eagle! You have to have coaches that can develop kids. Its not about developing kids for the NFL as #1 priority, its about developing kids and depth to win here now. The number that make it to the pro level are so small. I would love for them to make this Spring super competitive and have a REAL Spring game. Thud is useless. These kids want to prove Something in that game.

Maybe to you BUT to the recruits ( even though only 3% of college players get drafted) it is all about getting to the NFL.

To assume a Coach that did some time in the NFL can't develop a college player is just plain silly. Why not ask Jurkovec ? Cignetti made him a starting QB with some projecting him as a first round 2023 NFL draft pick. Whereas ND told him he would never start as a Power 5 QB.
Without the top recruits you will not be a top team. Simple.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Saban coach in the NFL ? How did that work out ?

It kills me when know nothing C DB blames BC avg of 10 pts per ACC game on Cig and Applebaum rather than identifying the real problem that of a walk-on QB that had nothing to offer.

C DB complaint "they didn't adjust gameplane to Grosel " is a bunch of hooey. It's ludicrous. The backup sucked.

You're right I am known for a really mean culpa. Thanks for correcting me.
CDB beyond your whining and negative attitude you now have become very childish. My teenage daughter is more mature than you. Enough of you. Your buddies don't even defend you anymore.

If you want to understand BC football read Mitch Wolfe's articles. He knows what he's is talking about.

YOU ARE NOW ON IGNORE.

See ya .
