Bowl Projections

I’m still seeing BC placed in the Fenway Bowl. I can’t see that happening in any year when BC wins more than 6-7 games. The 6-7 win seasons will perpetually see BC in the Pinstripe/Fenway. I think BC wins 8.

From Big Boomer? He isn't necessarily an expert.
These "experts" have no idea what they are doing. I just shake my head at their stupidity. These early weeks have no bearing on what will occur. The only real change was Clemson is out of the playoffs and probably so is the ACC. No ACC team had a victory against a major football school. These OOC games are very important and an OOC schefule, like BC has will not get them into the playoffs unless they go undefeated. And even then, the question will be, "Who have they Beat'n?". Playing cup cakes has consequences. And boy do ACC teams love to play cup cakes. Look at some of the teams Flutie played against. Bill Flynn was not afraid to play Alabama, Texas A&M, Miami, etc. He knew National recognition comes with having a tough schedule.

Collegefootball news still has us at 39, but they have Clemson at 50, so maybe they think we can win this game. But no matter they do not think a win over this year's Clemson team is that awesome. But even the SEC analysts are now wondering how much stock to put in GA's convincing win over Clemson. Every year we have so much over-reaction to early games. Let's just play two or three more weeks and much of the morass will clear up. And as much as I love talk about BC getting a national reputation, one of the givens of such recognition is a lockdown D -- and we do not have a lock down D. We are growing more confident that it is coming, but we still have some way to go. What is so positive is that we see improvement with each game.

Our pass rush is very very soft

Agree and it is obvious that we do not yet have sufficient faith in our defensive backs to blitz. It appears that we hope that the opponent will need a long drive to score and that we will come up with a stop doing some of these long drives -- not a bad move considering where we are right now. We still make any good (not awesome, but good QB -- but like most we will see in the ACC -- look awesome -- the difference since Hafley is we win the close games whereas we always seem to lose them before. I sincerely hope we can keep Coach here until he builds this defense the was he can -- and leaves a tradition that others can follow. On the other hand, we could always pay him, but the Jebbies aren't known for that.

After losing to Clemson, we haven't proved that we deserve any better than the Fenway Bowl. But its a long ACC season and there's still plenty of opportunity to prove we belong in a good (not major) bowl.

2Right now BC is overwhelmingly projected to go to The Fenway Bowl. How does that make you feel?

Well the good news is that BC can PROVE they deserve Better by beating the teams they play and the bowl committees that make the decision.

So these are our opponents and the bowls they are now projected to most-likely play.

#23-NC State - Mayo
Louisville - Military
Syracuse - Birmingham
V-Tech - Holiday
G-Tech - 1st Responder
FSU - Sun
#19-Wake Forest - Peach

Of course, every loss reinforces our invitation to Friendly Fenway. A 3-5 ACC record will get us a Green Monster visit.
