Paul Finebaum had a veery interesting snow about the portal. Of course, we understand that the SEC doesn't need the portal to maintain its crop of recruits. If anything, the portal does not help the SEC as much as it helps the other conferences. However, he was adamant that he believes that the players will enter the portal just to increase their earnings in NIL. He references the Oklahoma QB, Caleb Williams, who entered the portal to increase his earnings. He is looking for more money from anybody -- and will go back to OK if that is the best offer. Although Paul understands why Williams is doing this, he did state that it will upset most fans who believe in their schools and believe that athletes that attend those schools share the same love of the school. I think Finebaum has a point for consideration. If, we have exceptional athletes at BC, and the enter the portal just to see if they can make more money, how will we react to that? It sure will be different -- at some point in are BC experience, we fell in love with the school and that is why success in football and the other sports mean so much to us -- we know how difficult it is to get that diploma and we are so proud of the guys who play BC sports for doing all they do and earning that degree. The transfer portal changes the horizon -- changes the parameters. We fans, have to be as ready for that as the athletes, admin, and coaches. Interesting times . . .
